- Do I need a TV licence to watch Mobile TV?

- Can I watch Mobile TV on my 2G or 2.5G phone?
No, you need a 3G phone and need to be in 3G coverage. See compatible phones
- How can I check if I have 3G coverage?
We recommend you use StreetCheck™ which shows whether or not there is 3G coverage in any UK town or postcode.
- My Mobile TV isn't working properly. What's wrong?
For Mobile TV to work, you need 3G coverage. Check your mobile is displaying the 3G icon.
- Why are there sometimes short breaks in the sound or picture?
Mobile TV is transmitted to your mobile over our network which occassionally gets interrupted in the same way calls are occasionally interrupted. This is normal, and should quickly recover.
- How can I change channel on Mobile TV?
It depends which mobile you're using, but usually you simply press Stop on the video player then Back to return to our Electronic Programming Guide
- What happens if I'm watching Mobile TV and I receive a call, text or picture message?
If you receive a call, Mobile TV will be stopped and you'll be asked if you want to answer the call.
If you receive a text or picture message, your Mobile TV watching will not be interrupted - Why can't I access Mobile TV on my Sony Ericsson K608i?
You can only view Sky TV or T-Mobile TV on your Sony Ericsson K608i if you allow cookies on your handset.
To allow cookies on your K608i go to:
Settings > Connectivity > Internet settings > Cookies. Change Allow cookies to Yes. - How do I know what's on each channel?
The Electronic Programming guide provides Mobile TV viewing information one hour in advance.
- Why does the screen freeze sometimes or the sound become staggered?
This usually means the 3G network coverage is poor or congested but not lost or that your Mobile TV is trying to connect to the server.
- Why do I get an error message when I try to start a channel?
At peak times we may have reached full capacity. Please be patient and try again later. Also remember, Mobile TV only works in 3G coverage areas.
- Can I watch Mobile TV when I am abroad?
No. We may introduce this service in the future.
- When I select Watch Now, I get the message "Define default access point first".
You usually see this message on Nokia handsets if RealPlayer is not configured correctly. In RealPlayer, select Options > Settings > Connection > Network. Change the Default access point to "T-Mobile Internet".
- Are Mobile TV channels the same as I get on my TV at home?
The Mobile TV channels are provided by 3rd party content partners and there will be a mix of live and made for Mobile content for customers to view.
Live - Showing the same as on the equivalent TV channel.
Made for Mobile - Channels are pre-recorded and show as a edited loop of programming determined by the content provider.
- Can I watch/listen to BBC Channels?
Unfortunately, BBC Radio and TV Channels were removed from the T-Mobile TV package on 16th April 2008.
Customers can manage their existing subscriptions on their handset via "My Account" within the Mobile TV service."
Sky TV packs
- How do I subscribe?
You'll need to self subscribe on the Sky Electronic Programme (EPG).
Customers need to go to the Main Menu (Menu at the bottom of the EPG) and click on Manage Subscriptions.
All you need to do is simply follow the steps to subscribe. You will be informed when the pack is due for renewal. This date will be stored in the Manage Subscriptions menu within the Sky EPG.
- How do I unsubscribe?
You'll need to go to the Main Menu (menu at the bottom of the EPG) and click on Manage Subscriptions and then Unsubscribe.
Please unsubscribe 24 hours before the pack is due to renew.
You will be told when the pack is due to expire. This information will be stored in the manage subscriptions menu within the Sky portal.
- How do the channels differ from normal Sky?
Within the Sky packs some channels are Live and some channels have been made specifically for Mobile.
- Are there any other hidden charges?
Browsing charges will apply to accessing the Sky EPG.
Once you have reached the Sky EPG then you will not be charged for browsing.
If you have a web'n'walk bundle then you will not be charged for browsing.
The legal stuff
- The T-Mobile Mobile TV service is for personal use within the UK only.
- Compatible 3G handset and 3G coverage required. MobileTV service availability is also required.
- Monthly pass for UK use lasts for 31 days from time and date of activation.
- Daily pass for UK use lasts for 24 hours from time and date of activation.
- Browsing charges may apply when accessing t-zones.
- The Mobile TV service may contain made or altered for mobile content which will be different to traditional TV broadcasts.
- T-Mobile may suspend, amend or withdraw any part of the service without notice to you.
- You must not (nor help anyone else to) copy (except as permitted by law), redistribute or relay the whole or any part of the service, sell or charge others for making use of the service in any way or show (whether for free or for a charge) any part of the service in public.
- If you download any Mobile TV client software, you are responsible for ensuring that your phone has enough memory space to accommodate it.
- T-Mobile is not responsible or liable for any loss or damage caused by anyone using the Mobile TV service, including but not limited to any loss caused by the incompatibility of any software associated with the service with your handset.
