Preventing crime

We have signed the Mobile Industry Crime Reduction Charter and support the Immobilise campaign which aims to increase public awareness of the risk of mobile phone theft.

Tips on keeping your child safe

There are lots of sensible things you and your child can do to minimise the risks:

  • Take care when using your phone in public places - don't flash it around
  • Avoid leaving your phone unattended - treat it like you would treat your wallet or purse
  • If someone is prepared to hurt you to get your phone, let them have it. It's easier to replace the phone than you!
  • Make a note of the mobile's serial number - you can find it by typing *#06# on your phone. The serial number can help to track the mobile if it's ever stolen.

If your mobile or your child's mobile is stolen:

  • Call us immediately on 0845 412 5000. We will block use of the stolen mobile on all UK networks, even if the SIM card has been changed.
  • Report it to the police - even if it is a pay as you go mobile. Don't let thieves get away with it!
